Marian comes from a very talented family from Glueyard Lane in the Abbey where there was lot’s of music and story-telling. She recounts:
“My father used to read stories for us every night sitting around the fire before we would go to bed. So, these Dolls have grown out of a life long interest in Celtic Mythology, particularly the stories related to the characters, Gráinne, Emer, Bridget, Niamh and Fionnuala.”
These characters hark back to thousands of years ago, to a time of hero warriors and women of immeasurable beauty. Irish Mythological Dolls are inspired by the happenings in the time of CuChulain and Thuatha Dé Danann. This era is rich in tales of God’s and Goddesses, High Chiefs and Brave Warriors and the trials and tribulations of their lives. It is this enchanting history that forms the inspiration for this collection.
This collection is put together to remind us of our heritage and ancestry. It is the aim of this range of unique porcelain dolls to continue to arouse awe and exalt wonder upon hearing the stories of these amazing women.
We specialise in designing a limited edition of collector dolls, made to a high standard, each doll has its own identity number and history record, which is included in each package.
